Those of you who've been reading this blog for a while know that I have a number of web sites going right now. These include: -
Mike Salsbury's Web Site (this blog)
- The Gamer Hotsheet: a web site about table-top gaming, including wargames, RPGs, boardgames, card games, PC strategy games, and more.
- Blog Inspiration: a repository for blog article ideas
- Spamtoons: a cartoon inspired by spam email subject lines
While looking at the statistics for The Gamer Hotsheet, I realized that a lot of the hits I was getting were due to an obscure article we published about the Mattel HyperScan Intellicard game system, a new video game console being released later this month by Mattel. Given that, I decided to put together a site that specifically deals with this console, which I've done. It's called "HyperScan Players' World" and it's now online. I even went so far as to order the $60 console just so I have some idea what I'm talking about. Hop on over to the site if you are curious about the console.
I'm probably going to drop the Spamtoons site in the near future. It never really took off in the face of a similar site called "Spamusement" that did it first. Blog Inspiration is periodically getting spurts of traffic as new people find it, but since no one is submitting ideas or articles yet, it's not exactly going great guns either. This blog and Gamer Hotsheet are so far generating the revenue that pays for the others, thanks to people paying attention to the advertisements on the sites.
