What is probably an accidental security hole on MGM's web site led the BoingBoing readers to find out the margins on DVDs versus VHS. Bottom line is that it appears to cost about the same amount of money (~$6 U.S.) to produce a DVD or VHS. Meanwhile, DVDs are sold at a 50-60% profit ($19.98 selling price) while VHS tapes are sold at a 20-30% profit ($9.94 selling price). For the full article, click here.
