While visiting the Grand Canyon, we stopped on our way to the Desert View Watch Tower to have a look at the Tusayan Ruins and Tusayan Museum. Some of my pictures from that excursion appear here.
One of the first sights you'll see at the Tusayan Ruin site is the Tusayan Museum:

Inside the museum are a number of displays about the Native Americans who lived here, along with some artifacts from their history, such as this model of a typical dwelling:

These gaming pieces:
A pod from the Yucca plant, used for a variety of things from soap to fibers for making buckets:
Lichens, used for pain relief and dyeing textiles:
A picture of a typical building:
Ritual deer artwork:
Outside the museum are the ruins themselves. Not much remains of the structures, but here's what you can see on a walking tour around the site:

You know, it's sad that you have to tell people not to screw around with historical sites and artifacts...
A depiction of living quarters:
Some shots of the actual ruins:

I'm fine with leaving the snakes alone, but did the snakes get a similar warning?
An interesting-looking cactus we saw near the ruins:
nbsp; The other pictures I took at the ruins are available for viewing as a Shared Album on the Shutterfly web site here: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8ActG7Nk4YsmH0
