After I'd been playing Ultima Online for about a year, I finally got lucky and managed to place a small house near the Spirituality Shrine in the game. That location seemed to be ideal for operating vendors in the game, and I was able to make about 50,000 gold pieces a day without even playing. I could just login, stock up the vendors, and log out. Next day I'd be 50K richer. Unfortunately, that was in the days before auto-refresh of housing and due to a server outage right after I refreshed before going on a short trip, I lost the house. I ended up buying another house on eBay in a much crappier location where I was never able to sell much. Back in November, I happened to stumble on a plot of land where someone's house had decayed. I got to pick up a lot of the goodies they left on the ground (a ton of rune books and other stuff), and was able to upgrade to an oceanfront small stone workshop. About a month ago, I wandered around a bit and found an 8x10 plot near the ocean not far from Vesper. I placed a two-story house there and kept wandering. Not far away, I found a 9x13 plot. I used my brother's UO account to place a 2-story 9x13 house on that plot. My step-son's account took over my old stone workshop. A week or so ago, I stumbled upon a 10x14 plot near the mining area north of Minoc. I placed a 3-story house there and customized it. My step-son's account took over that 8x10 plot near Vesper. When last I checked, I had the locations of at least two empty 7x7 plots of land on which a small house could be built by another player. I also have the location of an 8x8 (I think) plot where a small stone workshop can be placed. And, next to my 10x14 there is a 7x9 plot on which someone could build a house. So if you, or anyone you know, is a regular UO player, register with this site and let me know that. I will connect with you the next time I'm in the game and help you locate one of these plots on which you can build your own house. My only request is that you actually intend to occupy the house with your in-game character. I don't want to see it up on eBay in a couple of days... I could have done that myself...
