About
Welcome to my blog! I’m a 42-year-old married man living in central Ohio with my wife, two step-children, and four cats.
By day, I’m a Windows administrator for a large non-profit organization. As a member of that organization’s Windows Desktop Administration team, my job responsibilities include deploying security patches via LANDesk, handling problems escalated from our internal help desk, repackaging applications for deployment via Active Directory and LANDesk, and participating in various technical projects as needed.
When I’m not working, I have a number of different interests I pursue. These include blogging (of course), writing poetry and fiction, reading (mostly technical books and science-fiction), listening to music, coin collecting, electronic gadgets, and the US space program.
I was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, in 1966. I lived there until I was in seventh grade, when my family moved with my father to Brazil, where he helped to build a power plant. We lived there for two and a half years before returning to Portsmouth. I’ve lived several different places over the years, including Syracuse (New York), Augusta (Georgia), and Pittsburgh (PA).
I have a brother, Matt, who lives in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area.
My sister Amy is a graphic artist living in the Washington, DC, area. (If you don’t like the look of this site, don’t blame it on her. I’m solely responsible for what you see here.)
My dad lives in York, PA, where he manages a waste to energy power plant.
My mother passed away in September 2008 of melanoma. We all miss her terribly.
Yours is the 1st blog I’ve read since I was diagnosed w/ Thyroid cancer. I just had surgery on Tues. and although I am in a lot of pain, was glad to be able to read your story and see more about what comes next. I did not see a more recent update and would like to know how you’re doing and ask some questions, if you don’t mind.
I’m actually doing pretty well. I will post an update shortly.
Nice post! GA is also my biggest earning. However, it
I saw your post about Rodney Carrington. I knew him in high school. He’s always been funny and, as you put it, off-color. Nevertheless, he is a great guy, or at least he was in our days at PTHS. He used to entertain us in class, singing his made up songs about people we knew or teachers. Most of his stuff back then was meant to get a laugh from the juvenile potty humor crowd. He’s progressed tremendously and the alumni at our school is/are (?) all very proud to say we know him and knew him when. Thanks for plugging Rodney, not only is he talented and funny, he’s hard working.
