Recipe: Butterscotch Brownies

These don’t take that much like butterscotch to me, but they are quite
good.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Shortening (e.g.,
Crisco)
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Egg
3/4
cup Flour
1 tsp. Salt

Steps:

  1. Heat oven
    to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt shortening, mix in brown sugar, vanilla,
    and egg.
  3. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  4. Spread in
    greased 8×8x2 pan.
  5. Bake 25 minutes.
  6. Cut into squares
    while warm (and preferably serve while warm).
